boygenius Plays Secret Intimate Show at The Smell
On Feb. 1, the indie supergroup boygenius performed two intimate, acoustic shows at The Smell in Los Angeles.
Tickets for the shows became available at 8:00 a.m. PST on the same day, with attendees notified of the venue, The Smell, later in the day. The first show commenced at 6:00 p.m., followed by another at 8:30 p.m.
The band, composed of Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus, and Julian Baker, announced during the performance that they would be going away for the “foreseeable future.” The three have been touring together since March of last year in support of their debut album and first project together in 5 years, The Record.
The group played 13 songs at the shows, including a performance of “Graceland Too” from Bridgers’ 2020 album, Punisher.
These performances come just three days before the trio finds out if they won any categories at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, for which they have been nominated in six categories.
